Oliver is a Partner in Baringa's Energy and Resources practice. He has over 25 years' experience working across the energy value chain on a broad range of areas including policy and regulation, trading arrangements, market and energy system modelling, asset valuation, and risk management. He started his career at Shell, where he worked on the development of gas storage facilities in the Netherlands, before joining Caminus, a leading UK-based strategic energy consultancy. Following a period in New York working on energy trading and risk management software systems, he returned to London and co-founded Redpoint Energy in 2004, which merged successfully with Baringa Partners in 2012.
Oliver leads Baringa’s work understanding the evolution of the energy system in the context of decarbonisation, working with public sector and private sector clients to understand policy choices, technology options, and the risks and opportunities for businesses. He leads Baringa’s growing work around Ultra Low Emissions Vehicles, and works closely with his Financial Services colleagues to support financial institutions understand the implications of climate change and the energy transition.
