João Maria de Macedo Santos

João Maria de Macedo Santos is CEO of Akuo Portugal since its creation in 2018. Following the success at the first solar auction in 2019, he has built a team of 15 people. Prior to that, João was VP Project Finance at Akuo, having closed several landmark transactions for the Group including 180 MW wind in the USA, 100 MW in Uruguay and 120 MW in Eastern Europe. João has 15 years of experience in infrastructure project development and financing.

João is graduated from leading French engineering school ENSTA Paris with a second Msc in economics and finance from Université Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne.
