Launched by the European Commission and led by EIT InnoEnergy, The European Solar Photovoltaic Industry Alliance (ESIA) is open to all public and private entities with relevant activities in the area of ​​photovoltaic solar energy.

Its main objective is to develop an industrial photovoltaic solar energy ecosystem capable of contributing to ensuring and diversifying supply. To do this, by supporting the European national sector and guaranteeing investment opportunities, it seeks to reduce the risk of lack of supply in Europe and dependence on other countries outside the EU. Specifically, the Alliance wants to help the EU reach 30 GW of annual solar manufacturing capacity by 2025 across the entire PV value chain.

Currently, it has more than 100 members who represent this industrial value chain from more than 15 countries and within different sectors. The Steering Committee is made up of the European Commission, EIT Innoenergy, SolarPower Europe and the European Solar Manufacturing Council.
