
Warren Campbell
Warren Campbell is Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer at European solar market leader Alight.
Warren is an energy market veteran and has scaled large businesses before. At Alight he spends his time working with customers, partners, and teams who are finding and developing new solar sites. He has overall responsibility for delivering engineering, procurement and construction of new projects and supports those managing Alight assets.
Before joining Alight, Warren was a partner in McKinsey’s global energy practice for 10 years. He founded and was CEO of Vireo Energy, a bioenergy company with focus on landfill gas – extracting methane from large landfills. Vireo Energy built assets across five East European countries, with those assets reducing CO2 emissions by circa 500,000 tonnes per year.
A serial founder as well as sought-after investor and advisor to startups, Warren has also co-founded My Driving Academy (leading driver education business in Sweden) and East Africa Investments (an impact investment company investing in startups across Rwanda and Kenya). He has been a venture partner at startup generator Antler, former chair of Appjobs (world’s largest community of gig-workers), and is chair of Alex Therapeutics (DTx platform), amongst other start-up and scale-up engagements.
Warren is a graduate of the University of Sydney with a degree in chemical engineering and he holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School.
