PORTUGUESE WORKSHOP – Tuesday 9th February 2021 10:00 – 11:30 CET
In December, Portugal surpassed 1 GW of installed solar PV with a further 2GW already allocated in recent years’ auctions of which, 670MW was allocated in 2020. Grid operator, REN has indicated that there could be another 3.5 GW at stake for developers who agree to support the grid. The last few years have shown us that Portugal is very much open for business with auctions running annually, encouraging both solar and storage and at the sister event to this conference in November of 2020, the Secretary of State for Energy, H.E. Joao Galamba indicated that the Portuguese government is preparing an auction for “non-conventional” surfaces next year as the country looks to ramp up its installed PV capacity to reach 9GW by 2030. This could include floating PV or projects alongside motorways. The country also showed a strong commitment to green hydrogen in 2020 opening a wealth of opportunity. This session will explore:
- The results of recent auctions and how projects will move forward
- The opportunity in Portugal for solar, solar+storage and green hydrogen
- How to get involved in the Portuguese market
- What the inclusion of non-traditional ground mount, large scale solar could mean for investors
This session will feature a discussion between speakers before the audience members are asked to turn on their webcams and mics and bring their own questions to the table. This interactive format will be both informative and enjoyable and will leave you with new content and new contacts for future success in the market.
