Marco Schweer

Marco has 20+ years of experience in energy and infrastructure financings as an equity investor, senior debt provider and asset manager. Marco joined the Project Finance team at HCOB in 2022 where his responsibilities include the origination, structuring and execution of lead arranger roles in the renewables, energy generation, energy transition and wider energy infrastructure space. In his prior role at SMBC, Marco was sector lead renewable energy and secured lead arranger mandates across the solar, wind (offshore and onshore), transmission and clean energy industries across EMEA. Marco also headed the SMBC smart grids & infrastructure utilities business where he successfully closed transactions for the provision of more than eleven million smart meters to households in the UK. Marco started his career at Bilfinger Project Investments where he gained extensive experience in the financial management of infrastructure assets from an equity provider’s perspective. His track record covers many landmark and award winning projects in a variety of sectors, including renewables, energy transition, smart grid infrastructure, transmission, waste, PPP/PFI, social infrastructure, transportation, emergency services, infrastructure funds and mergers & acquisitions.
